Lithofin Stainstop Plus

Description 

A ready-to-use special product from the LITHOFIN program for ceramic, natural, and concrete stone. Lithofin Stainstop PLUS contains high-quality water-repellent impregnating agents dissolved in solvents. Special additives provide a lasting color-enhancing effect.

Properties 

Lithofin Stainstop PLUS penetrates the surface and reduces capillary absorption so that water, oil, and grease are not absorbed. This makes the surface resistant to many stains. In addition, the color structure of natural stone is visibly enhanced.

Application 

For stain-resistant maintenance with simultaneous color enhancement of absorbent ceramic, terracotta, natural, and concrete stone. Especially suitable for lightly to moderately absorbent natural stone with rough to polished surfaces such as granite, gneiss, quartzite, slate, as well as limestone.

Note: Surfaces that have already received an oil-repellent treatment cannot be treated. The acid sensitivity of limestone and marble remains.

Method 

If you have no prior experience with this product, first test on a small sample area. The surface to be treated must be completely dry, clean, and stain-free. Apply Lithofin Stainstop PLUS evenly with a Lithofin applicator, brush, mop, or cloth until the surface appears evenly moist. For highly absorbent surfaces, repeat the process within 5 minutes if necessary.

Attention, important: The liquid product must be absorbed into the surface.

For rough surfaces: Spread any excess unabsorbed product and foam evenly before it dries. Do not wipe completely dry. The surface should still appear moist.

For polished surfaces: Wipe off all excess product with a dry cloth. Do not allow the product to dry on the surface. For large areas, remove excess material with a squeegee and polish mechanically using a white pad or lambswool. As drying begins, dampen the cloth with product and wipe the surface.

Check all surfaces for a uniform appearance. If necessary, reapply or touch up immediately. Once dried, the product cannot be removed.

Important: Test a small sample area first. Some types of stone may absorb unevenly and develop a cloudy appearance. Glass, polished surfaces, plastics, paint, and solvent-sensitive materials must be protected from splashes. Non-absorbent or damp surfaces cannot be impregnated. Limestone and marble remain acid-sensitive. Tools can be cleaned with thinner.

Drying Time: The majority of the solvent content evaporates within 2 hours. The floor can be walked on after 12 hours. Full effectiveness of the impregnation develops after 24–48 hours.

Application Temperature: The temperature of the surfaces to be treated must not be below 5°C and not above 25°C. Lower underfloor heating if necessary. Avoid direct sunlight.

Consumption: Depends on the absorbency of the surface. Guidelines: polished granite: approx. 10–15 m²/liter; rough or sawn granite: approx. 6–8 m²/liter; 25–30 m² for Brazilian and Porto slate.
